Issue 00: a screening of We Are All for the Fatherland (1979)

On February 20 2025, we launched our collective at a release event for Issue 00 at Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons. The event was produced in collaboration with De Voorkamer in Utrecht.

Issue 00 consists of a screening of Maroun Bagdadi’s 1979 documentary We Are All for the Fatherland, the release of Zine 00, and an art installation- Object 00: Kursi. The event also included a community dinner prepared by Rawan Boustany.

“The purpose behind the screening is to highlight the perseverance of daily life in the face of destruction in South Lebanon (Jabal Amel). كلّنا للوطن or We Are All For The Fatherland is a documentary film featuring interviews with resistance fighters, religious figures, and farmers juxtaposed against archival material and overlaid with a heartfelt score by iconic Lebanese musician Marcel Khalife. Even though the documentary was shot in the 70s,the political context it depicts remains disturbingly close to the present.”
